Villa Garda Villa Garda

The Surrounding Area - Brixham

To this day Brixham is an important fishing port with a rich maritime history. Located at the southern most tip of Torbay is Berry Head, which is not only a national nature reserve but also home to two Napoleonic forts. The heart of Brixham, however, lies in and around the harbour, where you will find a multitude of shops, restaurants and even a full size replica of the Golden Hind.

Berry Head - National Nature Reserve and Torbay's most important wildlife site. It also features two forts, a cafe and large, disused limestone quarry.
Brixham Heritage Museum - discover the history behind Brixham, especially its fascinating maritime legacy.
Battery Gardens and WWII Visitor Centre - historic gardens with panoramic views across Torbay.
Golden Hind - a full size replica of the ship that Sir Francis Drake circumnavigated around the world in.
Heritage Sailing Trawlers - these magnificent sailing trawlers have their own pontoon within Brixham harbour.
